Marstal on Aeroe - One of the 3 main cities on Aeroe IslandThe main port is Marstal and its also the economic center of Aeroe. The city of Marstal on Ærø island, Denmark, was a small town based on fishing in the 16th century but developed in the 18th century into an important maritme city. A cozy town with narrow streets.

The city of Soby has its own harbor and is famous for its ship restoration facilities. You will still find old galleons and Viking boats being restored in this harbor, utilizing ancient 16th century techniques in combination with modern technology.
The beaches on Aeroe are beautiful, clean oceans and not crowded at all. You can take possibly walks for hours without even meeting one person. You will rocky and/or sandy beaches reaching all the way around Aeroe island. Each beach has its own beauty and charm. You will find Ocean Shells and Seashells, and, if you are lucky, you might even find a "message in a bottle" from an ancient viking who might have passed Aeroe, or even lived on Aeroe!
