Not to be the cause of the next war between Sweden and Denmark, Smoerebrod is Danish (from Denmark)!
Ok, we give the Norwegians some credit for it as well, but you will find the best one on Aeroe.
There are several restaurants on Aeroe that are worth checking out. You will not find High-End-Fine-Dine-Valet parking cuisine here, but, it is one of the best places to experience truly Danish food.

Aeroeskoebing | best Ice Cream on Aeroe - Dynamite comes in small packages

Uh la la, mama mia...delicioso!

Now, this is not only the cutest, smallest and most charming Ice Cream shop on Aeroe, but its also the best! "Vaffelbagerie" has been in business for 25 years - for a good reason. The ice cream, cones and toppings are home made, needless to say, superb! If you walk down the main street (Vestergade) in Aeroeskoebing, just follow your nose, try to locate the smell for fresh vanilla, maple and waffles...that is where is, on Vestergade 21. Jette is the owner, a nice lady who knows how to make world class ice cream - The Vaffelbagerie is Famous for Maple Syrup and walnut ice cream - To die for!

Marstal | Need to shop on Aeroe after business hours?

In case you do not know, on Aeroe stores are closed from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning. Or, after 5/6pm during the week as well. And what I mean is when things are closed on Aero, everything is really closed but we are happy to tell you that there is one little convenient-store on the island that is always open when all others are closed. Here you will find all the live-savers after hours, such as cigarettes, sweets, toilet paper, newspapers, drinks and so on. This store is called LOLLIPOPS and is located on:

As much as Aeroe the island is one large museum of medieval history, there are also unexpected hip-cool-modern developments. Kongensgade 34, the hippest and modern styled Cafeteria-Restaurant on Aeroe in the centrum of Marstal, styled tastefully in a modern, zebra wood and stainless steel minimalist design theme.
If you want to have breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go. Good Cappuccinos, Espresso and Lattes and 'Fair trade' Coffee only! All organic foods, freshly home made breads, humus, smoked salmon, wines and other delicatessen you will not find anywhere else on the island. A 'must see'. Support the evolution!

Aeroeskoebing | Restaurant Mumm - North American&International food

Built in a simple house whose foundation dates from 1780, this restaurant enjoys a reputation for well-prepared dishes. You will find at times North American and International flavor food. Inside, you'll find a pair of dining rooms and the less formal one offers a view into a very busy kitchen. There's also a terrace set up in the garden where parasols and candles usually adorn the outdoor tables.
The restaurant offers an unusual combination of American and Danish style dishes, due to a former cook educated in Florida resorts. There is a copious salad buffet, well-flavored steaks, and an abundance of seafood, most of which comes from local waters, including filet of plaice, grilled salmon with hollandaise sauce, sole in parsley-butter sauce, and various preparations of shrimp and snails. Yuuuummmy!

Aeroe Golfing - Aeroe Golf Klub

Aeroe offers a Golf Course that is now open to visiting players and is featuring:
• 18-hole course
• 9-hole course
• Driving range
• Chipping green/practice bunkers
• Putting green
Aeroe Golf Klub resides in the old light house buildings around Skjoldnæs Light House at the tip of the island. There are lounges, toilets, sale of beer and sodas from vending machines and a self-service kitchen.
To join the Aeroe Golf Club for an active membership you have to buy one or more certificates of deposit for the face value of € 200.
